Terms and conditions for booking programmes

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR BOOKING PROGRAMMES AND SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICES

These terms and conditions are for booking programs and supplementary services
via Levi Tourist Office /Levin Matkailu Oy for its customers.

Booking conditions

Bookings can be done verbally, written or on Internet. A booking is valid for the informed number of persons and will become legally valid once Levi Tourist Office has issued a written confirmation by email. (For bookings made on the spot at the Levi Tourist Office, a booking confirmation will be handed to the client during the booking process.)

Making a booking and payment

When making a booking, the customer receives an invoice with description of the program which includes directions to the destination or to the meeting point. The service fee when booking by phone or e-mail is: EUR 16 individual bookings; EUR 32 group bookings and EUR 32 bookings from outside Finland. For booking made online the service fee is EUR 16. Bookings made on the spot is EUR 10.
Payment options will be presented in our web store, or in case of reservations made on the spot, during the booking process.
If the payment is not made on time, annual interest on delayed payment will be charged in accordance with section 4 of the Interest Act.

Cancellation terms

Total cancellation:
• More than 7 days before the activity: cancellation fee is 32 € + service fee.
• 7-1 days before the activity or no show: cancellation fee is 100% of the total amount

In case of a sudden illness / injury / death of a close relative or your travel party that might lead to a cancellation, you need to make sure that your travel insurance will cover the costs of the booking. Even in such cases our booking conditions are as mentioned above. We recommend our guests to have a travel insurance in case of an emergency or unexpected incidents. In case of cancellation, please contact immediately levi.info@levi.fi and refer to your booking number, or call +358 (0)16 639 3300. Also in case of cancellation the above cancellation terms are valid.

The client is obliged to be on time according to the schedule of the program/transfer. Being late does not justify to any refund or rescheduling of the program. Please be on place of departure 5-10 min earlier than the departure time.

Changes:

All changes or alterations to be made to the reservation shall be made in writing within office hours in Finland. The requested changes are subject to the written approval of Levi Tourist Office.

Any possible changes made within the cancellation policy mentioned above cause an extra charge of EUR 10 as change fee, i.e. changes to the additional services or number of guests.
Child policy: Child rates vary from age 2 to 14 years old depending on the program provider.

Pregnant women:
Pregnant women should not use the snowmobile or the sledge pulled by the snowmobile as the vibrations and exhaust fumes may be harmful. If the program requires special organization (e.g. additional transport), program provider is not be responsible for the possible extra costs. Furthermore a pregnant woman takes part in any activity at her own risk.

Liability

Program provider shall exercise pro-activity, contingency, due diligence and appropriate health and safety measures in accordance with the laws and regulations of Finland and Finnish standards of recommended practices of program services at all times when delivering offered services under these terms and conditions.

Snowmobiles in safaris

All snowmobiles used in safaris are insured as required by Finnish law. Safari participants are held liable for damages caused to snowmobiles. The amount of the compulsory deductible expense varies depending on the program provider. The driver of the snowmobile must be at least 18 years of age and in possession of a valid driver’s license. Finnish law prohibits driving a snowmobile under the influence of alcohol. The responsible program provider reserves the right to change the routing, schedules and duration of the excursions if necessary, due to prevailing weather conditions, or if deemed advisable due to safety reasons and the comfort of the participants. The program provider also reserves the right to discontinue the safari if a participant is seen as a potential danger to him/herself or to others, or is in poor health.

Animals

All animals used in the Services (reindeer rides, horse rides and husky rides) are trained as far it is possible for the activity. However, behavior of animals can never be fully predicted and therefore, in order to reduce risks, given safety and other instructions have to be obeyed.

Other injuries

The program provider is only liable for personal-injuries or material damage arising from accidents that have happened during the offered services and which are caused by negligence of the program provider or its employees or sub-contractors or by the provision of faulty equipment.
The program provider is not liable for any accidental damage or injury which has to be indemnified under the travel insurance of a customer. Personal travel insurance is always highly recommended. Program services e.g. snowmobile and husky safaris can be physically demanding and the participants may be exposed to different kinds of physical strain. In case the participant has any illnesses or disabilities (for instance heart disease, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, back or hip problems) that could affect the ability to take part in the Services, should he /she acknowledge the participation is at own risk.

Prices and price alterations

The prices quoted for the booking include the separately agreed services and taxes for each customer.

Complaints

Any possible complaints must be made on-site at the destination to the responsible program provider or the representative of Levi Tourist Office.
Levi Tourist Office is not responsible for brochure printing errors or pricing errors or changes occurring after publication of the brochures/prices.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Finnish Law. The Finnish Courts shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute, controversy or claim related to such a demand. The District Court of Lapland (in Finnish: Lapin Käräjäoikeus), placed in Rovaniemi, shall be the court of first instance.
