Gallery Raekallio

Gallery Raekallio is located in the Pöntsö village, 18km from Levi on the road to Muonio. It is easily accessible by car, about 180km from Rovaniemi. There are daily flights from Helsinki to Kittilä, flying time 1h 20min. From the Kittilä airport, it’s a 30min car journey to Pöntsö.

We are open daily 10 am – 8 pm. We are happy to welcome large groups to the gallery, but please inform us about your arrival in advance.

Gallery

The building is octagonal so that every room has at least one wall that is not perpendicular to another. The gallery is built next to the artist’s atelier and the atelier, residential building and gallery are all housed in a coherent, multiform wooden building. The gallery hosts an ongoing exhibition of Reijo Raekallio’s paintings depicting real life. The layout of the museum keeps changing as new paintings are hung.
