You can find directions for this route from a signpost next to Levi Tourist Information. After crossing the Myllyoja drain the coniferous forest changes gradually into mixed forest, later into mountain fell birch grove and finally into open fell terrain.
At the fell highland the terrain is hillocky and easy to hike. When you reach the Isolaki peak you have during 4 km distance climbed 310 m above the lake Immel’s shore. During this short distance you can see by observing the nature how the differences in the height of the terrain affect the flora of the area, making it very diverse. After admiring the scenery from the Isolaki peak you can continue to the route around the Kätkä fell or you can come down the southern side (very steep, might be easier to hike up than come down) to the route back to Levi centre. The beautiful scenery can be admired also from the lean-in shelter at the peak of the Kätkä mountain fell.
By following the route through Merkkisenkaltio to Levi centre, the total length of the hike is 16,4 km. By following the route via lake Immel to Levi centre, the total length of the hike is 11,4 km.

The route starts at the gate to the outdoor routes (in front of Arena) and heads towards east. The first part of the route is a wide skiing course base all the way until Golf club. If you choose Sammuntupa route, you continue walking on the path straightforward. The route turning up to right takes you to Utsuvaara kota / tepee.
The climb up the Levi fell is quite steep but easy to hike. At the Lappish tepee of Utsuvaara is an opportunity to have an open fire coffee (own coffee pot required) or to grill sausages. From the tepee you can see the peak of the fell which is 338 meters above the surface of the lake Taalojärvi.
From the Lappish tepee of Utsuvaara you can choose the route to the right, which takes you to the fell uplands and to the restaurant Tuikku. When it`s clear weather, you can have a break on the terrace of restaurant Tuikku and admire the scenery showing the round peaks of several mountain fells nearby.
Approximately 600 m before restaurant Tuikku, there is a path that separates from the route leading you to the peak of Levi. The peak is 531 meters above the sea level. There is at the top of Levi approximately 600m panorama route with fireplace. It is suitable for the wheel chair as well. The starting point for the panorama route is Café Palovartija.
On the way back to Levi centre the trail goes by the restaurant Horizont (closed in summer time). The route back to Levi centre goes down along the Front piste.

You can choose a little bit longer but easier route, approximately for 17 km. The route starts at the gate to the outdoor routes (in front of Arena) and heads towards east. The first part of the route is a wide skiing course base all the way until Golf club. Choose the path towards Sammuntupa. Some parts of the route are quite rocky.
From Sammuntupa the route continues to Torajainen, old reindeer fence. From there the route back to Levi centre goes over a panorama bridge, from where you can admire the lake Immel situated in between of two fells, fell Levi and fell Kätkä.
If the weather is grey and there is a strong wind at the fell, you can choose a route towards south from the Lappish tepee of Utsuvaara. The route starts at the gate to the outdoor routes (in front of Arena) and heads towards east. The first part of the route is a wide skiing course base all the way until Golf club. Take the route turning up to right takes you to Utsuvaara kota / tepee. After you take off from the tepee, there is a small uphill. The route goes down through the beautiful pine forest to an old reindeer fence, Torajainen. From there the route back to the Levi centre goes over a panorama bridge, from where you can admire the lake Immel situated in between of two fells, fell Levi and fell Kätkä. When you take advantage of this option the length of the hike is 13,5 km.

You can find directions for this route from a signpost next to Levi Tourist Information. Walk towards Merkkisenkaltio. The route is ski course base and when you come closer to Markkisenkaltio the route might be a bit wet. The Pyhä mountain fell route continues from Merkkisenkaltio to west on an even-tempered path. After about 3 km of hiking the route comes down to the shore of idyllic Muusanlammi lake. A day-cabin is located at the shore. In the day-cabin there is room enough for six persons to have a break. You get water from fell stream nearby. From the day-cabin the route continues slowly up to the side of Pyhä fell. After 4,3 km there is Kätkä lean-in-shelter to have a break (possibility to make a fire).
