KINOS SAFARIS SUMMER WEEK PROGRAMME 1.6. – 31.8.2012

Kinos Safaris offers a varied week program, which is a great opportunity to experience the summer of Levi. Guaranteed departures every day! Most of the programmes are suitable for the whole family. Week program is designed for individual travellers, not groups. Guidance is in Finnish and in English. Clothing according to weather.

Week program starts every day at 2 pm from Kinos Safaris office. On Mondays and on Fridays departures also at 5 pm. All week programmes include guide services, transportation and equipments that are necessary as well as VAT. MONDAY

ATV SAFARI TO THE FOREST

The safari starts from Kinos Safaris office where we change into ATV driving gear. We have a car lift to the village Köngäs where ATVs are waiting. Jump on the ATV and head to forests and swamps. Mud flies and the fun is guaranteed! During the safari we will have a short break for juice. Own snacks can be included. Distance approximately 5 km. Total duration approximately 2 hours. Price 80 € / adult.

TRADITIONAL ’KATISKA’ FISHING

Start at 5 pm from Kinos Safaris office. We travel by car to a wilderness lake called Kivijärvi (40km). At Kivijärvi you will get to know the traditional katiska fishing. Katiska is a kind of a basket made from wire that is been sunk to the bottom of the lake and when pulled up after a couple of days it might fish in it. On this trip, the catch is guaranteed! After fishing we will have a break for juice. Own snacks can be included. Total duration approximately 2 – 2,5 hours. Price 25 € / adult, 13 € / child (4 – 12 years).

TUESDAY

PONTOON FERRY AT RIVER OUNASJOKI

Trip starts from Levi Tourist Information. The pontoon ferry is located in Luvattumaa and runs along the river Ounasjoki to Hirvasniemi sandy beach. At Hirvasniemi passengers will have the opportunity to swim in the river Ounasjoki. On ferry you can buy pancakes and coffee. You can also bring your own snacks. Warm clothing is needed. Total duration approximately 2,5 hours. Price 13 € / adult, 7 € / child (4 – 12 years).

WEDNESDAY

CANOEING AT LAKE IMMELJÄRVI

This trip is ideal for the ones seeking their first canoeing experiences. The route takes us slowly around the lake Immeljärvi. In between the trip we will stop for a brake. Own snacks can be included. At the end of the trip the bravest may even take a dip into the water. Canoeing distance approximately 3,5 km. Total duration approximately 1 – 1,5 hours.

THURSDAY

FISHING FROM A PONTOON FERRY AT RIVER OUNASJOKI

Ounasjoki is the largest undeveloped river that is located entirely within the borders of Finland. Ounasjoki has many small and some bigger rapids full of fish. We head to the river on a pontoon ferry and start fishing. Catch will be prepared to take home. Own snacks can be included. Total duration approximately 2 – 2,5 hours. Price includes fishing equipment and fishing permits.
Price 27 € / adult, 15 € / child (4 – 12 years). You can also choose not to fish but only to have the ferry trip. Price 12 € / adult, 6€ / child (4 – 12 years).

During the safari we paddle at the river Ounasjoki in the village Köngäs. We will paddle around an island called Ketinsaari with beautiful landscapes all through the way. This tour is ideal for first-timers and for families. We will have a small brake in between the safari. Own snacks can be included. Canoeing distance approximately 5 km. Total duration approximately 2 – 2,5 hours.

SUNDAY

FISHING AT THE LAKE IMMELJÄRVI

Fishing trip suitable for the whole family. We will go to the waters on traditional rowing boats or canoes and start fishing. We fish pike and perch and maybe even trout or grayling. In between the trip we will have a break for juice. Own snacks can be included. Total duration approximately 1,5 – 2 hours. Price 32 € / adult, 17 € / child (4 – 12 years).
