Education in tourism at the Levi Institute

The Levi Institute is a unit specialising in education in tourism.It is located at the Lapland Vocational College in Kittilä. It provides schooling in the tourism, hotel and restaurant industries to qualify students for a diverse range of jobs within companies. Courses are provided in co-operation with tourism-related companies in the Levi area.The institute emphasises the key values of Lapland in the Levi area: authenticity, openness and spontaneity.

The Levi Institute addresses the challenges of international tourism. During training, there is a chance to study several different languages and cultures and to undergo work placement abroad. An international group is starting a course there in autumn 2008.

Studying can be done in a variety of ways: day study, distance and multiform learning, apprenticeships and labour market training.
