Outdoor and sports event XLI Särestöniemi cross country skiing on Sunday, March 29, 2026

The traditional outdoor and sports event, Särestöniemi Cross country Skiing, will be held on Sunday, March 39th, 2026!

In the Särestöniemi Skiing event, participants ski from Kittilä's church village to Särestöniemi museum and back. You can ski the full distance of 35 km or a shorter distance, such as one way to Särestöniemi museum, if you have your own return transport. Särestöniemi will be open on the skiing day, so supporters too are welcome to Särestöniemi museum! On the trail section between Kittilä's church village and Särestö, you can ski in both traditional and free styles. There are four drink stations along the route. Participation fee: €20, free for children under 12. The participation fee is paid at the starting point. The fee includes a Särestöniemi Skiing certificate, drinks at the drink stations, and coffee, juice, and a bun at Särestöniemi musuem.

Start from Kittilä's sport field, address Havutie 2, 99100 Kittilä. The office opens at 10am, and the start time is between 10-12.00.

Distance: The round trip from Kittilä to the Särestöniemi Museum is 35 km, but you can ski a shorter distance, such as one way.

Raffle: Gift cards and merchandise prizes will be raffled among all participants. There are separate prizes for children. The raffle will be held at Kittilä's sport field.

The event is organized by Kittilän Voima ry in cooperation with the Särestöniemi Museum.
