Kittilä Municipality, Agnico Eagle Finland, Visit Levi and Levi Ski Resort are joining forces to organise an Open House Day on Saturday, 22 August 2026, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm!

The event is free of charge and open to everyone – residents, locals and visitors are all warmly welcome!

During the day, the organisers will present their activities, current projects and future plans. In addition to informative presentations and displays, there will be plenty of interesting activities for the whole family.

Programme includes

Sensory- and neurodiversity-friendly hour

The first 30 minutes of the event, from 9:30 to 10:00 am, will be a sensory- and neurodiversity-friendly period. This time is intended for anyone who benefits from reduced sensory stimuli.

The sensory- and neurodiversity-friendly period is suitable, for example, for people on the autism spectrum, people with sensory sensitivities, people with visual or hearing impairments, or anyone who prefers a calm environment.

• The event will be held in a large sports hall.

• There will be fewer people in the venue before the main event begins.

• There will be no background music or other loud noises.

• There will be no flashing lights.

• The exhibitors participating in the event will be fragrance-free.

• When entering the venue, staff at the information point will provide clear instructions on how to navigate the event.

• A separate quiet room will be available in the sports hall for anyone who needs to take a break during the event. The quiet room, located in one of the changing rooms, will be clearly marked with a “Quiet Room” sign.

Discover and experience throughout the day

Kittilä Mine will offer visitors a free soup lunch, coffee and sweet pastries. You can also try your luck and skills at gold panning in the sports hall courtyard.

Representatives from different departments of Kittilä Mine, as well as the regional exploration team, will present their work. This time, several of the mine’s partner companies will also be present with their own exhibition stands.

Levi Ski Resort will present the latest news and highlights for the upcoming winter season.

Meet representatives of Visit Levi and hear the latest news from the tourism sector and what to expect from the upcoming winter season.

At the Kittilä Municipality information point, you can learn more about municipal services and upcoming events. Take part in a survey about municipal communications and enter a prize draw!

• Learn more about the municipality’s work on equality and non-discrimination.

• A More Sustainable Kittilä project and climate action.

• Vihreä Ahma, the recycling shop.

• Kideve Business Services – information about Kittilä and advice for businesses and those planning to start a business.

• International House Tunturi-Lappi and Pello project – information for international jobseekers, employees and entrepreneurs.

• Well-being services, including the Family Centre, Youth Services, Library, Cultural Services and Revontuli Adult Education Centre.

• A children’s activity area organised by the municipal sports services
