Move like a Finn - Fairy-tale forests, white views
Cross-country skiing is considered Finland's national sport and it's our favourite pastime in the winter. Definitely something you should try when in Finland.
Levi also offer fantastic opportunities for cross-country skiing. Levi offers a wide and well-maintained network of ski tracks for ski enthusiasts – hardcore athletes, families and beginners alike, making it one of Finland's best spots for cross-country skiing.
The easiest way to learn cross-country skiing is to take a lesson at the Levi Ski School. The Levi equipment rentals have an excellent selection of cross-country skiing equipment for both classic and free cross-country skiing technique.
In the network of tracks totalling 230 kilometres in length, there are suitable tracks for different skill levels: for beginners, active fitness enthusiasts and competitive professionals honing their skills. There are 28 kilometres of tracks in the Rakkavaara area which are also illuminated for late-night skiing.
Who knows, maybe you'll get the chance to go on a trip while the northern lights dance across the night sky?
You can buy cross-country ski maps from the Zero Point and Levi Tourist Information center. Or you can use your phone and see the interactive map of ski tracks.
