Lapland’s tourism is based on its nature and the wide-ranging consideration of the environment is essential in the development of tourism. In the long term, in accordance with sustainable development, the operation results in savings in the nature and costs, when for example, the energy and material flows required for production purposes are minimized and waste is recycled. The improved management of environmental matters is important to Levi and concrete measures are being made to advance this matter.
Oy Levi Ski Resort Ltd produces year-around and diverse services at slope areas with high respect on environment. Our values are Customer, Trend setting, Safety and Environment. Taking good care of environment is self-evident for us and we manage our responsibilities in welfare of fell Levi.
Electricity is one of the biggest energy consumptions in ski resorts. We use 100 % green electricity which is provided by a Lappish producer.
Other important environmental issues are water consumption, fuel, recycling and erosion. They all have impacts on our daily actions and it is a continuing process to develop more eco-friendly operations.
The task of Environment team at Levi Ski Resort is to ensure that Green Program is in use. The Management of Levi Ski Resort is engaged to environment work.

- our premises are warmed up with the waste heat that is arised in snowmaking
- we use renewable energy forms like heat from the ground
- we have invested on eco-friendly snowmaking and grooming systems
- we use eco-friendly snowmobiles for maintenance and train staff for energy sensitive driving
