Customers have welcomed Levi Ski Resort's development work in recent years, and Levi Ski Resort's past winter season broke all industry records in Finland. The Levi fell and its services have been developed by the customers’ needs and were reflected in the ski resort's total winter sales, which increased by + 35% compared to the previous winter season. Levi Ski Resort thanks its customers for a successful winter season.
The past winter season at Levi Ski Resort broke all industry records in Finland. Finland's leading ski resort consolidated its position as the market leader and recorded the biggest figures ever during the winter season in the Finnish ski resort industry in terms of the number of ski days, lift ticket sales and sales growth. The slopes of Levi were skied for 550,000 days during the season. Lift ticket sales increased by 29% during the past season, and the ski resort's total sales reached as much as +35% growth. The winter season at the ski resort ended on Mother’s Day on May 8th, 2022, and the total length of the winter season was 213 days.
Customer feedback and consideration of the Arctic environment are the bases of Levi's condition development
- Levi's winter season was successful in every way. A great season opening in October and a successful snowmaking from then on, as well as the early opening of the slopes in their entirety, enabled our customers to have high-quality conditions for diverse slope activities. The ski resort's long-term and intensive investment program which include state-of-the-art lift equipment, the continuous expansion of the snowmaking system network and the development of slopes and special venues have been to the liking of both domestic and international customers. The popularity of the South and West Point areas has risen with modern lift renovations, and they are currently the two most popular areas of the center, explains Jouni Palosaari, CEO of Levi Ski Resort.
Customer feedback and consideration of the Arctic environment has been taken into accountin the developments. Levi Ski Resort is the only Nordic ski resort to have an ISO 14001 environmental certificate, which gives guidelines to daily operations and decision-making. All new coming investments will be based on the modernization of existing slopes. In slope profiling, attention is paid to control erosion by modern means, as well as the latest and most energy-efficient solutions are used in the construction of snow systems and lighting. In the construction of lifts, modern technology is energy efficient and maintenance-free. The largest investment of “Levi Glacier” on the Front Slopes of next summer, more than 8 million euros, follows the same ideology of sustainable construction and long-life cycle thinking as the latest Levi West Point project.
- During the summer of 2022, a new, modern 6-seater “Glacier Express” chairlift will be built on the front slopes, and at the same time the base of the Front Slopes will be renewed. Finland's first glacier will also rise next to the chairlift. With the reformation, we are strongly involved in the global ski resort business. The next phase of investments in the modernization of the fell is planned to focus on the Northeast and Southeast Slopes, when the T-bar lifts nr 6 and 7 will be modernized into chairlifts, says Jouni Palosaari.
Digital solutions bring enjoyment to the skier's downhill day
The “smart fell” project, launched in 2019, has also been liked by the customers. An intelligent digital ecosystem has been built in the fell, including e.g. a digital information channel with slope, lift and weather information, online cameras and Levi Ski Resort's own Levi Resort application with comprehensive fell information and additional features useful for skiers, combined with the Levi Black loyalty program.
- The Levi Resort application has been eagerly received and there are already plenty of downloads and users. This positive signal allows us to develop the fell and its services even further. With the help of new innovations, we want to offer our customers the best possible conditions to focus on exactly what is essential i.e., the wonderful slope experiences that the fell offers, concludes Marko Mustonen, Commercial Director of Levi Ski Resort.
