Record-Breaking Winter 2024–2025 for Levi Ski Resort – and more stored snow than ever before
The 2024–2025 winter season was the most successful in the history of Levi Ski Resort. A total of 590,000 skier days were recorded on the slopes – an all-time high. Visitor numbers increased especially in October, November, December, and January.

Levi Ski Resort began snow recycling already in 2016. Years of snow management expertise have enabled long and snow-sure seasons.
The season was also record-long, spanning 227 ski days, starting on October 4, 2024, and ending on May 18, 2025. Skiing will continue even during Midsummer, as a temporary summer park will be built at the bottom section of South Park on the South Slopes and remain open for the Midsummer weekend.
Levi Six chairlift usage on the Northeast Slopes
The new Levi Six chairlift on the Northeast Slopes proved to be a popular addition. During the season, the lift carried 531,821 passengers, doubling the number of ascents compared to the previous winter, when the area still operated with a T-bar lift.
International appeal continues to grow
Levi continues to strengthen its position as an international ski destination. During the season, 23% of slope users were international guests, with the largest growth coming from Central Europe and the UK.
The increasing international demand is also reflected in a more even distribution of skier visits throughout the season.
Record amount of stored snow
Levi Ski Resort’s snow recycling process has developed significantly over the years. Improvements in automated snowmaking and spring snow collection have strengthened snow reliability.
This year, 216,340 cubic metres of snow were stored on the Front Slopes – 27% more than last year, equaling an increase of 46,588 m³. That additional amount alone is enough to cover a football field with 7 metres of snow.
When adding the snow stored from the World Cup slope (Levi Black) and the Golf areas cross-country snow storage area, the total amount of stored snow reaches approximately 295,000 m³.

Summer in Levi is looking bright – biking, events, and the peacefulness of the fells invite visitors to experience Lapland's nature.
Investments in snowmaking and family services
During summer 2025, Levi will improve its snowmaking system by building a new water pipeline from the Ounasjoki River to the fell, enabling a twofold increase in snowmaking capacity.
The South Slopes, especially popular with families, will be expanded and modernized, with new automated snowmaking systems and LED lighting. The Leevilandia area will also be expanded to better serve families, beginners, and ski school guests.
Marko Mustonen, Commercial Director of Levi Ski Resort, reflects positively on the past winter and looks forward to the summer season:
“We’ve had an exceptionally strong winter – a long season, a record number of skier days, and strong international growth show that Levi is more attractive than ever. Domestic skiers are still our largest and most important customer group. We’re grateful to our customers and partners for a successful season. We have very positive expectations for the summer. The offering at Levi fell continues to grow, and we strongly believe that the summer season will also attract more and more visitors to enjoy Lapland’s nature, biking, and events.”
Levi’s summer season is underway, and the winter season 2025–2026 will open on Friday, October 3, 2025.
