Levi wins again – fifth victory in the international vote

10.11.2025

Levi Ski Resort has once again been voted Finland’s Best Ski Resort in the prestigious World Ski Awards. This marks the fifth time Levi has claimed the title in the international competition that celebrates the world’s leading ski industry operators.

The winners for 2025 were announced on November 10th, as the 13th annual World Ski Awards Gala culminated in the reveal of this year’s results. Alongside Levi, other nominees in the Finland’s Best Ski Resort category included Ruka, Pyhä, Salla, Ylläs, and Iso-Syöte.

“The World Ski Awards recognition is a testament to Levi Ski Resort’s long-term development work to provide the best possible skiing experience. Our skilled staff, exceptionally long ski season, continuous investments in our services, and our commitment to caring for the environment and local community are at the core of our values. It’s great to see Levi rise as a highly respected ski resort on the international stage,” says CEO Jouni Palosaari.

During summer 2025, Levi Ski Resort made major investments to strengthen the mountain’s appeal and enhance its winter offering. One of the most significant projects was the new snowmaking water pipeline to the fell, enabling more efficient snow production and ensuring an even higher-quality start to the season.

The South Slopes have been renewed for the upcoming winter with an expanded and modernized ski area, new automated snowmaking lines, and state-of-the-art LED lighting. Parking areas at the popular South Slopes have also been significantly expanded to better serve the growing number of visitors.

At Levi Glacier, more recycled snow than ever before was stored for the early-season opening, which proved vital during the exceptionally warm October–November period.

Between 2019 and 2025, Levi Ski Resort has invested a total of 50 million euros. During this time, three new six-seater chairlifts – Levi West, Levi Glacier, and Levi Six – have been built, ski areas have been modernized, energy-efficient snowmaking capacity has been increased, and early-season conditions at Levi Glacier have been developed. In addition, extensive geothermal energy projects have been carried out, and significant efforts have been made to enhance summer operations.

Levi Ski Resort continues its international development year after year, strengthening its position as one of Northern Europe’s leading winter sports destinations. The resort offers over 200 days of winter activities each season, along with continuously evolving services for both domestic and international guests.

The World Ski Awards are among the most prestigious recognitions in global ski tourism. Established in 2013, the awards aim to raise industry standards and honor ski resorts that demonstrate long-term and responsible development. Votes in the World Ski Awards are cast by both consumers and industry professionals.
