Start the year surrounded by Lapland’s enchanting nature

For many, the true winter begins in January — once the bustle of Christmas and New Year has faded. It’s also considered one of the very best times to visit Levi: crisp frosty days and deep snow create perfect conditions to enjoy the region’s stunning nature, diverse activities, and welcoming services.

Sparkling white landscapes, picture-perfect snow-laden trees, and the pure northern air are simply irresistible. The sky glows in dreamy shades of blue, pink, and violet, while the northern lights dance in shifting tones of green — weaving their own kind of winter magic.

Levi has snow and slopes and trails in top condition

In January, there’s plenty to do at Finland’s most popular ski resort – Levi’s excellent slopes offer something for everyone. The new Levi Six chairlift takes skiers to the over one-kilometre-long runs on the Northeast Slopes, while the red runs on the West Slopes are long-time favourites. The sunny South Slopes provide the fell’s longest and gentlest runs, perfect for families, beginners, and those who enjoy a relaxed pace. The area also features Leevilandia for kids and beginners, the South and Junior Parks for freestyle fun, and cosy rest spots and a slope restaurant that make every ski day easy and enjoyable.

Pink january skiing

Levi also pampers cross-country skiers with its versatile and well-maintained ski tracks suitable for both beginners and seasoned athletes. The comprehensive network of tracks in Levi offers options for both classic and skate-style skiers. Even those skiing with dogs are not forgotten, as Levi has an extensive network of dog-friendly trails where furry friends can join in the joy of outdoor activities.

The increasing daylight naturally structures the day. For example, have an efficient and inspiring remote workday - take care of work matters in the morning, go skiing on the slopes or on icy trails after lunch. As the afternoon darkens, you can continue working for a while. In the evening, you can admire the enchanting glow of the Northern Lights or the starry sky.

Snowshoeing, winter cycling, and many other winter activities such as husky and reindeer sledding, snowmobiling, and visiting ice castles invite you to enjoy the wintery charm of Lapland. Easily accessible and the most versatile services in Finland makes the day outdoors perfect.

The Pond Hockey World Cup event is an entertaining and a low-threshold hockey event aimed at hobby teams and groups of friends. The matches will be played on fields made of natural ice on the last weekend of January, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th. In addition to ice hockey, there is plenty of program, food and drinks and, of course, fast-paced race parties on event's evenings.
