Aakenuspirtti

Aakenuspirtti is an atmospheric cave in the peace of the wilderness in Kittilä. There are two cabins, the main building is Yläkämppä (Aakenuspirtti) and Alakämppä, which was used by workers in the past. There is a traditional sauna in the idyllic courtyard of the Aakenusjoki river.

In the spring, Alakämppä serves the skiing trail café, where you can admire art, spot birds and get local handicrafts. The cross-country ski trail between Ylläs and Levi crosses the yard - come skiing, rest overnight and continue your journey.
