King Crab House
The King Crab House is a unique restaurant, which offers the opportunity to have king crab straight from the aquarium. There are not many places, where you can try the king crab tail or king crab roe, which is produced as little as a few hundred kilograms in whole northern Norway. The king crabs are bought directly from the fishermen in Finnmark in North Norway, where they are strictly restricted by government fishing laws. All fish served in the restaurant is also MSC certified and caught from the sustainable fish stocks. The meat is local, and the vegetarian raw materials are partly collected from the wild in the area.
The restaurant is situated in the heart of Levi by the pedestrian zone in the middle of the town. Come as you are, sit down and be amazed by the Arctic flavours while enjoying a glass of good wine. The service is relaxed, but professional in the updated and cosy restaurant. The wine list has high-quality options in different price ranges, and you can enjoy both a quick lunch and a set menu dinner.
The concept is dream come true for the Norwegian couple Håkon and Toini Karlsen who opened the restaurant in 2012. In October 2018 both restaurant and kitchen managers of the restaurant got more involved in the business by becoming partners of the company. King Crab House is one of few privately owned restaurants in the area of Levi and the owners are also working on daily basis. There are not many kitchens in the world with this much experience with king crabs. They have worked with this unique ingredient since 2006 and handled over 20 tons of king crab only here in Levi. Go in and enjoy the unique ingredients and atmosphere in the King Crab House!
