Chasing Dreams – Eduard Hallberg Trains for the Season at Levi Glacier
Finnish alpine skier Eduard Hallberg, a young talent of the Fearless Finns team, is training in Levi for the upcoming season – in a place where his own dreams began years ago.
The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in Levi will take place on November 14–16, 2025, and for Hallberg, the event holds a special meaning.
“I spent a lot of time here in Levi as a kid and used to watch the World Cup races as a little boy. I always dreamed of one day being able to race here myself,” Hallberg says with a smile.
“Now that the men’s World Cup has returned to Levi and I’m part of the national team, it feels pretty amazing.”
Hallberg scored the first World Cup points of his career in Levi in 2024, finishing 24th in his home race. It was an important step on his journey toward the international elite.
Levi Glacier offers unique conditions for early-season training – the slopes are just minutes from the village, making every training day highly efficient.
“When the lifts open in the morning, we’re straight on the hill. A couple of hours of skiing, then lunch and a gym session in the afternoon. In the evening we review video runs, go through the next day’s plan, chill a bit at the apartment, and then do it all again,” he explains.
Although this autumn has brought unusually warm weather, Hallberg remains calm and focused. “You have to approach it with a slightly different mindset. When the snow is soft, it takes patience and positivity, even if it doesn’t always feel perfect.”
Before arriving in Levi, Hallberg had already logged several training days across Europe and South America. Now, however, the focus is back home – and on the home race.
“All World Cup events are special, but of course Levi stands out. Still, I try to approach every race the same way, without adding extra pressure.”
Levi serves as the Olympic Training Center for Finnish alpine skiing, offering world-class conditions for national teams, Finnish clubs, and international squads alike. According to Hallberg, that’s what makes Levi so unique: the combination of slopes, logistics, and environment enables complete focus on both training and recovery.

“It’s easy to concentrate on what matters most here – skiing and making sure the skis run well.”
There’s a calm determination in Hallberg’s approach. He knows exactly where he’s heading – and that’s what makes his story so compelling: dreams aren’t built overnight, but through every run that brings him one step closer to his goal.
