One action at a time – Golden Crown Levi Igloos & STF certificate
Clean nature and sustainable development are core values for the tourism industry.
Golden Crown Levi Igloos has been working on environmental responsibility for years and has been awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) certificate in August 2023. The programme is aimed at operators in the tourism industry, and companies that meet the criteria are awarded the STF label.
Companies that have been awarded the certificate meet a set of criteria created by Visit Finland that promotes tourism and takes into account economic, environmental, social and cultural sustainability. Companies and sites that have been awarded the label are audited on a regular basis.
Making sustainability visible
– Golden Crown Levi Igloos has focused on environmental issues from the very beginning, as clean nature and sustainable development are core values of our company. Environmental awareness is growing among tour operators and customers alike, so it also makes good business sense. The STF label makes it easier for international travellers to find companies that are committed to sustainability.
– We want to do our part to spread environmental awareness and ensure that Lapland remains a great tourist destination in the future," says Eva Lindström, Sales and Environmental Manager at Golden Crown Levi Igloos.
Sustainability is a continuous process
Golden Crown Levi Igloos, one of the oldest glass igloo villages in Finland, has been in operation since 2008. This summer, the oldest igloos have been replaced with more energy-efficient glass, which will help reduce energy consumption. The renovation work supports the sustainability objectives, which will continue to be implemented on an annual basis.
