All-time Levi – Levi 60 years exhibition at TAHTO
Oy Levi Ski Resort Ltd and TAHTO Center for Finnish Sports Culture have together produced an exhibition to mark the 60th anniversary of Levi Ski Resort. All-time Levi exhibition presents the development of Levi resort from modest beginnings in the 1930’s to today’s international tourism center accommodating sustainably more than half a million visitors each year.
TAHTO preserves and interprets Finnish sports culture in all its versatile forms and from different social viewpoints. The unique 60-year story of Levi Ski Resort is an integral part of Finnish skiing history, which will be highlighted through the exhibition at TAHTO and in Levi itself. All-time Levi exhibition will be open at TAHTO at Helsinki Olympic Stadium from 25 January to the beginning of April 2024.
According to Jukka-Pekka Vuori, Managing Director of TAHTO Center for Finnish Sports Culture:
“Levi has for 60 years set ambitious targets and embraced the idea of continuing change. The ski resort has over the years been provided with high-class accommodation and services, fast ski lifts, new ski pistes and all-year-round activities. The developing resort serves ever growing numbers of customers ranging from people involved in active freetime pursuits to professional athletes.“
Levi also brings a special attraction to TAHTO. A ski lift gondola from Levi will be installed in front of the main entrance, offering TAHTO’s visitors and passers-by a chance to experience the feel of Lapland’s slopes. The Levi gondola will open for public during TAHTO’s opening hours for the duration of All-time Levi exhibition.
Jouni Palosaari, CEO of Oy Levi Ski Resort Ltd, says that All-time Levi exhibition produced in co-operation with TAHTO is one of several deeds Levi has undertaken in connection with its 60th anniversary:
“We are especially proud that during its 60-year journey Levi has carried out its responsibility to maintain arctic nature, local culture and people’s wellbeing. In our anniversary year we will work every day to make each day our visitors spend in the nature a part of sustainable growth, built piecemeal deed by deed.”
In addition to All-time Levi exhibition at TAHTO and in Levi, co-operation between Levi and TAHTO is visible in 60th anniversary contents on Levi’s media channels and various events held at TAHTO Center for Finnish Sports Culture.
