“There’s always something to do” – How Levi’s summer surprised Mimosa and Matias

26.6.2026

When you wake up in Levi, you don’t need to know where the day will take you. Maybe it’s a new downhill trail, the climbing courses at the Adventure Park, or the thrilling twists and turns of the Summer Sled Track. That’s exactly what made Mimosa and Matias fall in love with Levi: your plans can change with the mood of the day.

Many people know Levi for its diverse ski slopes and snow-covered fells, but in summer the destination reveals a completely different side. One where the days fill up with activities almost without you noticing, and where the next adventure is always just around the corner.

Originally from southern Finland, Mimosa and Matias have become very familiar with everything Levi has to offer in summer. They first came to Levi to work during the winter season, but life in the fells won them over. Now they’re spending their second summer in Finnish Lapland.

“I was genuinely surprised by how much there is to do in Levi during the summer. There are activities for everyone – families, couples and older visitors alike,” says Mimosa.

Their summer days are often planned on the spur of the moment.

“One day we’ll play golf, the next we’ll head out for a game of tennis. Sometimes we go for a round of mini golf or take the gondola to the top of the fell. In the evenings, there’s still time for a hike and to enjoy the Midnight Sun,” says Matias.

What they love most about summer in Levi is the freedom.

“If the weather changes or you feel like trying something new, it’s easy to change your plans. There are so many options that you don’t have to fit everything into one day. There’s easily enough to do for several days,” Mimosa explains.

One of their most memorable experiences was trying downhill mountain biking for the very first time at Levi Bike Park.

“I was a little nervous at first, but after the very first run I thought, ‘This is absolutely amazing!’” Mimosa says with a smile.

Tuomas “Bulo” Tähtinen, Rental Manager at Levi Bike Park, has seen the same reaction countless times.

“As soon as riders realise they can do it and make it down safely, they get a huge smile on their face. Usually they want to head straight back up for another run,” Tähtinen laughs.

Cycling has become one of Levi’s biggest summer attractions. In recent years, significant investments have been made in developing Levi Bike Park’s services and trail network.

“Today, everything we do is guided by the idea that mountain biking is for everyone. We’ve invested in expanding the trail network, adding a magic carpet lift and creating beginner-friendly trails to make downhill biking as accessible as possible,” says Tähtinen.

One of northern Finland’s first downhill bike parks is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer.

The anniversary weekend, taking place on the first weekend of July, will feature guided rides, children’s biking adventures and evening rides under the Midnight Sun. The brand-new Santa’s Cabin 2.0 trail will also officially open during the celebrations.

“Levi is definitely a place where you should stay for more than just a day. There’s simply so much to do! The Summer Ticket is a great option for anyone who wants to experience several activities during their holiday. It makes it easy to create your perfect summer days in Levi,” Tähtinen says.

According to Mimosa and Matias, even a weekend isn’t enough.

“Before we moved here, we always felt we should have stayed a little longer to really experience everything Levi has to offer in summer. We definitely recommend spending a few extra days here and giving yourself the chance to enjoy all the summer experiences.”
