What’s the best thing about biking?

3.6.2025

What does it feel like to move through a place where the sun never sets and the trail stretches as far as your mind can wander?

There’s something magical about summer in Lapland. When the sun never sets and the air feels light to breathe, you feel the urge to move – to feel the wind on your face and the scenery shifting with every pedal stroke. That’s what biking is all about: freedom, movement, and experiences powered by your own strength.

Levi is the perfect place to discover the joy of biking – whether you're a passionate mountain biker on the trails or stepping into a Bike Park lift for the first time. Riding surrounded by fell landscapes brings a sensation that can’t be measured in kilometers. It’s a feeling that stays with your body and mind long after the ride.

Why does biking feel so good?

Biking is one of the most accessible summer activities. You don’t need previous experience – just the ability to ride a bike. Levi offers a wide range of trails for all skill levels, allowing you to relax in the heart of nature. Along the way, you can stop to admire the views or simply enjoy the silence.

“Biking feels like moving with the rhythm of freedom and nature. It clears your mind and engages your whole body. For me, Levi is the perfect place to ride – the scenery, the trails, the light... it all just clicks,”says local cyclist Anette Latva-Piikkilä.

Bike Park brings flow and confidence

Levi Bike Park is one of the most versatile in Finland. Lift-access biking brings the joy of riding to those who prefer not to pedal uphill. The Gondoli2000 lift takes riders up the fell, where trails for all skill levels begin –from easy greens to demanding black runs.

Beginners will enjoy the Hidden Forest area or Green Avenue, which offers a safe and relaxed way to get familiar with lift-assisted biking. Equipment rentals are available on-site, and guided courses are also offered.

“I took a course even though I was nervous at first. I got great tips on body position and realized I didn’t need to fear speed once I knew what to do. The feeling of succeeding is incredible,” says Tiina Kääriäinen Peens, who joined Levi Bike Park’s beginner course last summer.

Biking connects, calms, and gives space to enjoy summer

The midnight sun of Lapland makes cycling feel extraordinary. You’re not limited to daylight hours – you can set off in the middle of the night and experience nature in a whole new way. The trails are quiet (aside from the occasional reindeer), and the light makes the landscape feel almost dreamlike.

The best thing about biking might not be speed or technical skill. It’s the feeling that lingers long after the ride – that you moved, breathed deeply, and truly lived in the moment.
