The Fastest Story of Summer – 20 Years of Levi Bike Park
In summer 2026, Levi Bike Park celebrates its 20th anniversary. It’s a journey that began far away in Whistler Bike Park, Canada, and has grown into one of Finland’s most popular mountain biking destinations.
The first trail was built in 2006, and today Levi Bike Park offers over 25 kilometres of flow and technical trails for riders of all levels. The fell landscapes, the ease of lift-assisted biking, and continuous development have made Levi a place where everyone can experience the joy of biking at their own level.
The story of Levi Bike Park began in 2005, when a study trip to Whistler opened eyes to the possibilities of summer tourism – and especially to the appeal of biking, which was on a completely different level compared to what was known in Finland at the time.
“It really was eye-opening. Biking played a huge role there, and that’s also where the ideas for the Activity Park and village biking came from. After returning from Canada, we decided to start building our own bike park, and a designer from Whistler came to Levi to plan it,” says Jouni Palosaari, CEO of Levi Ski Resort.
The following summer, Northern Finland’s first bike park was built. After a quieter start, the popularity of biking began to grow – and so did Levi Bike Park. Over the years, trails have been built and developed consistently. Today, 15 different trails wind across the fell, with more to come.

First Turns Downhill – Hidden Forest Skill Park
In recent years, development has accelerated. Levi has made long-term investments in trails and services, and collaboration with Allegra Nordics has brought new ideas and quality to trail design.
Hidden Forest Skill Park – an area of four separate trails – allows beginners to safely explore the sport using a conveyor lift. It is especially designed for beginners and families.
Located near the gondola, at the lower section of Levi Black (G.2), the area features four different trails ideal for first-time riders. Within the forest setting, Red Fox Roller, Speed Wolverine, and Bear Balance offer varied elements such as rolling terrain, braking practice, and balance development. The Deer Drops area introduces riders to drops in a safe environment, while Green Avenue runs alongside the lift, offering a particularly easy ride down.

Experiences for Every Rider
Levi’s 15 trails offer a wide range of experiences, from smooth flow trails to terrain-following technical routes. At the most demanding end is World Cup DH Black, challenging even the most experienced riders.
Between Hidden Forest and the black trails lies a versatile selection, including the laid-back Blue Groove. Another popular blue trail is Sunny South, one of the longest blue trails in Finland, offering over four kilometres of smooth riding for cyclists of all levels.
The green Northern Flow trail winds calmly through northern landscapes, providing a relaxed and enjoyable experience, especially for beginners and intermediate riders.
Santa’s Cabin is one of the park’s classic red trails, offering a satisfying challenge also for more experienced riders.
The vision of Levi Bike Park is to make biking accessible to everyone – just like skiing in the fell: easy to start, with experiences for every level. Trails are classified by difficulty in the same way as ski slopes: green, blue, red, and black.

Werneri Courses – First Steps on Two Wheels
Werneri biking courses offer children a safe and inspiring way to learn the basics of cycling – and Levi may be the place where many take their very first turns on two wheels.
The courses support the development of cycling skills and open the door to an active and engaging summer.
Easy to Start – No Bike Needed
In addition to trails, Levi Bike Park offers comprehensive rental services. The rental selection includes bikes for all sizes of riders – from small 20-inch models to XL-size bikes.
“We have a wide and versatile selection, which lowers the threshold to try the sport. Every visitor can find a bike that suits them and head out to enjoy Levi’s incredible trails,” says Tuomas Tähtinen, who is responsible for the Bike Park rental operations.

At the Heart of a Summer Full of Events
Levi Bike Park is more than just trails and lift rides – it is also a stage for some of the most memorable biking moments of the summer.
Events and competitions bring together riders from across Finland and abroad, creating a sense of community that extends far beyond the trails. The routes offer a perfect balance of technical challenge, visual appeal, and rideability, making them ideal for both relaxed group rides and official competitions.
The highly popular Levi Bike Fest has become a summer tradition and a highlight of July, where the Bike Park pulses as the heart of the event – full of speed, laughter, and shared moments from the fell summit all the way down to the village.

Continuous Development and Investment
Behind the development of the Bike Park is a strong vision: to build Levi into an international biking destination known for both quality and accessibility.
This means continuous investment in trails, services, and the overall customer experience. In recent years, hundreds of thousands of euros have been invested in trail development, and the work will continue in the years ahead.
“Our goal is to strengthen Levi’s year-round offering and make the area even more attractive in both summer and winter,” says Marko Mustonen, Commercial Director of Levi Ski Resort.
On the eve of its 20th anniversary summer, Levi Bike Park is full of energy and new plans. Whether you’re an experienced rider or trying biking for the first time, Levi offers trails, landscapes, and moments that stay with you.
This is where the next 20 years begin.
