Levi’s record season ends – biggest investments underway
Levi Ski Resort closed its winter season on May 10, 2026. The season began on October 3, 2025, and the resort served skiers and snowboarders for a total of 220 days.
Overall, the winter season was excellent. A record-breaking 599,000 ski days were recorded at the resort, while the number of international visitors increased significantly. International guests accounted for 26% of all lift ticket purchasers during the ski season. Lift ticket sales reached a new record thanks to increased visitor numbers, and ski school revenue also achieved an all-time high. The long season, stable snow conditions, and continuous development of slope and service capacity supported growth throughout the winter.
Marko, Business Director of Levi Ski Resort, describes the season as highly successful:
“A long season lasting more than seven months created a strong foundation for the entire winter. Levi remained Finland’s number one ski destination among domestic travelers, just as in previous seasons. International demand continued to grow, and we successfully responded to it through both slope capacity and services. One notable aspect of the season was our strong performance during peak holiday periods, while November, January, February and March all showed particularly strong growth. Smooth operations and high-quality customer experience were highlighted throughout the season, and these remain key priorities for us.”

The Largest Investment Program in Resort History
Levi continues its long-term development strategy. Investments for the current year total €19.5 million, making it the single largest investment program in the history of the ski resort.
This year’s development projects include the construction of a new Sunny Express chairlift in the South Slopes area, while the existing 8-anchor lift will be relocated to a new position. Leevilandia will also see major improvements with the addition of a new pome lift and a new forest trail. Following the upgrades, Leevilandia will feature two pome lifts and two magic carpet lifts.
The South Slopes area is the most popular slope area on the fell, especially among families and beginner skiers. These investments will further improve flow, capacity, and the overall customer experience in the area.

Services and Equipment Continue to Develop
A new Service Point 2 maintenance facility is being built in the South Slopes area and is scheduled for completion by Finland’s Independence Day in December. At the same time, the resort’s fleet will be strengthened with two new snow groomers and two new trail grooming machines. These investments will improve the quality of slope and trail maintenance while ensuring smooth operations even during the busiest periods of the season.
The expansion and renovation of Draivi Restaurant will also begin at the end of this summer. The goal is to open the renewed and larger restaurant by the end of February 2027.
Jouni Palosaari, CEO of Levi Ski Resort, emphasizes the importance of the investments:
“We are making determined investments in the smoothness and overall customer experience across the entire resort area. New lifts, service points and equipment support growing demand and enable an even better overall experience for different customer groups. We continue to develop Levi as a year-round destination where winter and summer support one another.”

Investments Also Focus on Summer
Levi Bike Park celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The highlight of the anniversary year will be a birthday weekend event taking place July 3–5, featuring a diverse program for riders and visitors.
During the summer, Levi Bike Park’s trails will continue to evolve. The renovation of the legendary Santa’s Cabin trail, which began last summer, will be completed this year. The largest phase of the project was finished last summer with the construction of a new line through the rocky mid-section of the trail. This summer, work continues with a complete renewal of the upper and lower sections. Once completed, the popular Santa’s Cabin trail will offer nearly three kilometers of smoother and more enjoyable riding.
The first summer activities in Levi will open on June 6, 2026, and the next winter season will begin on October 2, 2026.
